This was one of my hardest CNC projects to date. It took a lot of tests to get a detailed inlay that had no gaps or issues. Eventually, I realized I had to buy a press in order to get the inlays to align straight without any cracking.

This is a hex shaped salad bowl with a wood inlay. The main portion is made from cherry wood, with a walnut wood inlay in the shape of a pineapple top.

I designed the basic shape in Fusion 360 and drew the pineapple top in Adobe Illustrator.

It was machined out on my Avid CNC Pro 4×8 wood CNC router machine.
