This art block is an experimentation in creating something that is made to be touched and handled. It is a gorgeous piece of live-edge oak wood harvested from a downed tree in the Santa Cruz mountains. It is combined with some semi-transparent blue epoxy that sparkles in the bright sunlight. The piece was sanded to 600 grit and has two coats of oil on it to provide a satin finish that is incredibly durable. It’s about 7.5″x3.5″x1″, and weighs about 15 oz.
