This is a free standing piece of furniture that I designed to fit in a particular corner of my house. It is made from solid wood, mainly consisting of cherry with maple behind the center panels.

Watch the full build video over on YouTube: Corner Cabinet Build Video. The overall construction used classic woodworking techniques, mortise and tenon, but I used my CNC to do a lot of the cuts. I also used a Festool Domino to cut floating tenons in locations that didn’t need as much strength.
I was inspired by George Nakashima, who used a lot of vertical wood slats in his designs. I also have a touch of Japanese architecture influence, with the gentle curves.
