This bowl is made out of several pieces of hard maple with translucent “ghost diamond blue” epoxy drips. The drips shimmer blue in the light. The wood has a few dark spots that naturally occur.
This is a one of a kind art piece bowl; I’ll be creating a limited number of these with various different types of woods and epoxy colors.
The bowl is finished with a food safe hardwood wax oil (Osmo brand TopOil – DIN and EN rated for direct contact with food). It has a satin sheen to it.
It takes roughly 10 hours of machining time, and 4 hours of hand work to complete this bowl.
Dimensions: about 8 1/2″ from the bottom of the heart to the tip of the round bits, 8 1/2″ wide at the widest part, and about 2 1/4″ tall. It is about the size of a cereal bowl.
